Qatar, GTC182 Water Project


On 13th July 2011, the completion ceremony of GTC 182 water project was held on the project site office. Officials of Qatar’s KAHRAMAA (Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation), Chinese diplomats in Qatar, SINOHYDRO representatives and project principals, and subcontractors attended the event. During the ceremony, KAHRAMAA and the Engineer representatives send congratulations to the on-time completion, they all highly commended SINOHYDRO’s endeavor dedicated in constructing GTC 182, and expressed the satisfaction on the work quality.
 
The GTC 182 water project is the biggest one of the six contracts to expand water distribution in order to meet the increasing demand on water needs in the three areas in Qatar including West Bay, Umm Slal, and Alkhor. The main constructions of GTC 182 include reservoirs, pump stations and water transmission pipes etc. On 14th October 2008, SINOHYDRO successfully bid the USD140 million-EPC contract, and commenced the work ever since. The project was completed in 32 months following the contract.
