On July 13, 2011, the completion ceremony of the GTC 182 Water Project was held at the project site’s office. Officials of Qatar’s KAHRAMAA (Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation), Chinese diplomats in Qatar, SINOHYDRO representatives and project principals, and subcontractors attended the event. During the ceremony, KAHRAMAA and the engineer’s representatives sent congratulations for the on-time completion, all highly commending SINOHYDRO’s endeavors in constructing GTC 182 and expressing satisfaction on the quality work.
The GTC 182 Water Project was the largest of the six contracts to expand water distribution to meet increasing demands for water in the three areas in Qatar: West Bay, Umm Slal and Alkhor. The main construction of GTC 182 included reservoirs, pump stations, water transmission pipes and so on. On Oct. 14, 2008, SINOHYDRO successfully bid the USD 140 million-EPC contract and commenced work immediately. The project was completed in 32 months, according to the contract’s goal.
